LinkShield
Check a link for phishing and malware before you open it.
Google Play listing coming soon.
What it does
- Checks the structure of a link and looks for signs of risk, on your device.
- Matches the link against built-in lists of known phishing and malware sites, on your device. Nothing is sent for that check.
- Asks security services such as Quad9 DNS and Google Web Risk about the link over encrypted connections. The address is sent with common tracking parameters removed, and no name, account or advertising ID.
- Keeps your scan history on your device. You can clear it at any time.
What it does not ask for
No access to your messages, no accessibility service, no overlays over other apps, and no access to contacts, location, camera or photos.
Know the limits
No tool can promise to catch every dangerous link. LinkShield tells you what it found, and the decision to open a link stays with you.
